What is it?

A forum for tango dancers, teachers, musicians, and djs to dance, share knowledge, learn, play, dance, and dance some more.  In San Francisco.  For cheap.

A warning to all ye who enter:  There are NO classes at this event!!!  Only X-changes.

What’s an X-change, you ask . . .

Well, an X-change is an opportunity for participants to share knowledge and create with each other.  We expect X-changes to work like this:  the moderator of the session will provide a theme (movement, idea, musical phrase, etc, etc, etc) for exploration.  Participants will explore the idea with a partner or in small groups.  The moderator will then reconvene the session and facilitate the sharing of discoveries.  Wash, rinse, and repeat.  Then go dance some more.

Who will be there?

You, we hope, and about 200 other dancers from around the country.   For a complete list of participants of all stripes (explorers, troublemakers, volunteers, goddesses, demons, sound wizards, and the like), see our community page.   If there are specific people that you would like to dance with at SFTX, please invite them to register.

This community service message has been brought to you today by Project Tango SF (a non-profit organization) and a crew of local volunteers.  Our goal is to convene around 200 like-minded dancers from around the country in our city for an extended weekend of great dancing and positive exchange at minimal cost.
