SFTX is a forum to promote homegrown tango. This year, we'll convene June 19-22 in San Francisco and the East Bay for a long weekend of dancing, discussion, and music-making, with a few surprises thrown in for good measure. At SFTX, there are no classes and no teachers-but there is lots of time to explore, exchange, and share ideas with other dancers and musicians.

SFTX is a non-traditional learning environment. We're continually experimenting with and refining the format of the exchanges. This year's format will allow more freedom for you to focus on what you want to learn-so come prepared with ideas and experiences to build on. For those of you who participated last year, here are a few of the other changes for 2008:

  • More focus on tying the presentations and discussions to the dance exchanges
  • Larger (and hopefully, cooler!) venues for the Friday night milonga and Saturday allnighter
  • New-and-improved time and location for the picnic
